This hearty dark roast is herbal and spicy with toasty grain notes and a clean finish. Our Fair Trade Certified Rwanda is a seasonal coffee from the Karongi District in western Rwanda where it is sun-dried on raised beds. This coffee can be served with lunch or dinner, no need to wait for dessert!
High-quality coffee from Rwanda is a relatively new product. Before 1994, the majority of the coffee was high volume, low quality filler beans. As the country rebuilt after the genocide, new practices were introduced and the government created a National Coffee Strategy. Since 2000, coffee is once again a major export, but now it’s the wonderful, rich beans we have today.
